Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a lead list?

A lead list is a list of every person who has shown interest in your business before. It should include any information you have about them (phone, email, birthday, program interest, etc.) You can also purchase contacts to add them to your lead list—these are called cold leads, and they work a bit differently than your other, warm leads who've opted-in to communicate with you already.

The act of building and nurturing a lead list is what we believe is central to everything a martial arts gym owner does. Whether you're hosting an event or handing out flyers, you should always be doing it with list building in mind. As you build your list, you will begin to have a larger and larger pool of people to advertise to who have already expressed interest for your services in the past. Once your list is large enough, it can continue yielding you new appointments through custom outreach campaigns.

  • What is "list nurturing"

List nurturing is the act of systematically contacting your lead list with promotional offers to reactivate them into paying members. Since your gym has been open, you've been collecting information from leads. You can use this information to book new appointments, getting new members for your martial arts gym without spending money on Google advertising or Facebook advertising.

  • What is "list building"?

If you don't have a lead list yet, or if your lead list has less than 2,000 leads in it, then it's important to find what adjustments can be made to build the best list possible. As you continue building your list, our team will begin contacting your leads in nurture sequences slowly over time. Once your lead list is large enough, it can continue yielding you new appointments through custom outreach campaigns on an ongoing basis.

  • Do I have to spend money on ads?

Not necessarily. There are plenty of ways to find new leads without having to spend money on Facebook advertising or Google advertising. And especially when you're first starting out, there are many things you can do prior to spending money on ads. Such as optimizing your website, social accounts, and sales process. You can also try boosting your Google reviews and Facebook reviews (along with any other review platforms your gym is on). As you do these things, more leads will find your gym organically on the web. Advertising is a great way to boost your lead list in certain situations though. So although it's not our main focus, it should never be discredited.

  • How much do your services cost?

There are different costs associated with our List Building & List Nurturing services. We first speak with you and determine the size of your lead list. We then customize a package for you depending on the size of your list and the amount of outreach you want our team to handle for you. If you don't have any lead list at all, then we audit your current setup and determine why you haven't been building a list with it.

  • What if I already have a website and software?

That's great! We are not a software company. So we don't want to replace your website or your membership software. We work with your current setup, so you can keep everything the same.

  • Do you only work with martial arts gyms?

We specialize in martial arts and fitness businesses. But we also work with other select businesses in alternative industries. If your business is in an alternative industry and you'd like to inquire if it qualifies for our services, please email us at info@groundstandard.com.

  • Do I have to commit to a yearly contract to work with you?

We do not require yearly contracts for our services.

  • How do I cancel?

Just email or call us! You may cancel our services at any time with a 30 day notice.
